I believe homework is an important piece to education for several reasons. First, homework is a good way to practice the skills we are working on in class. Second, homework allows parents to find out what their scholar is learning at school (because if you ask, they will either say "Nothing" or "I don't know"). Lastly, I believe homework provides an excellent opportunity for families to communicate as scholars explains their work to you.
Homework Policy
Your scholar is asked to read for 20 minutes as well as complete one math page (unless there is a quiz in class) for homework on Monday through Thursday. There will be occasional homework projects. I will let you know about those as they come up. If you forget or cannot get the homework complete, please complete it the next day.
Daily Folder
Your scholar will receive a Blue Daily Folder on the first Monday of school (Aug. 24). One pocket will be labeled "Keep" and the other "Return." Please check this folder every day. It is an important communication piece.
