Starting a FIRST LEGO League Challenge team is an incredible way to inspire curiosity, creativity, and teamwork among students. Through hands-on robotics and real-world problem solving, students learn to think like engineers and innovators—designing, building, coding, and testing their own robots while tackling themed challenges that connect STEAM to everyday life.
Beyond the technical skills, FLL builds confidence, resilience, and collaboration. Students learn to celebrate discovery over competition, support one another, and value the process of learning together. The program strengthens school culture by fostering a sense of pride, inclusion, and community—where every student can contribute ideas and feel part of something exciting.
In short, an FLL team turns curiosity into capability and transforms classrooms into launchpads for the next generation of thinkers and problem solvers.
This is why I believe in FIRST Robotics, at all levels, and why I chose to start our FLL and Tech Challenge Teams here at Plateau Valley. Go Students of Steel Team 72509, Go Red Iron Robotics Team 31850, Go SWIFT Team 1332, and Go PV Cowboys!!!
