In 2018, a group of students and Teachers went on a field trip to see Souderton's SAVE club and their Environmental Education Campus (SEEC). These students came up with a plan to create a similar experience on our own campus at PVHS. It has taken a long time, but dedicated teachers and students continue to work towards the goal of educating our students and community about the importance of conservation, preservation and restoration of natural ecosystems.
A presentation to the PVSD foundation got us our start for the trails and while efforts are slow, we are working tirelessly to have environmental education become a priority.
The first pollinator garden was built and planted in the spring of 2021. Thanks to Mr. Craven and Take Action for their help!
The first pollinator garden was a success! This year we plan to build at least one more garden and fill this garden with more plants!
Several of our PV trails students worked on a plan to install a rain garden in the bus loop at PVHS. While we have plans for the layout, we will be working towards gaining funding and installation this spring!
