Ms. Hartman
I am excited to be teaching 6th grade! I looking forward to having a fantastic year with your child in class. I strive to reach every child where they are in their learning and guide them in the learning process. Being kind and respectful to one another in class and at school is important, and we will be building in time to create a sense of community. Every child needs to feel respected and appreciated in order to take risks in their learning and grow to new heights.
I am originally from Wellesley, Massachusetts, and moved to Southern California when I was in the fourth grade. I enjoyed my time at UC Santa Barbara where I earned my BA in Communication. After graduating, I moved to the Bay Area and soon after, began studying elementary education at San Francisco State University. I earned my Multiple Subjects credential, Specialist Instruction Credential in Special Education (Learning Handicapped) and my Resource Specialist Certificate.
I have taught 1st-3rd and 4th/5th special day class in San Mateo, 4th, 5th, and 6th grade in Portola Valley. This will be my 20th year of teaching and my 17th at Corte Madera. In my free time, I like to spend time with my family and friends, run, hike, camp, practice yoga, and read. I am very grateful to be a teacher at Corte Madera. I love coming to school every day to grow and learn with my students, to collaborate with the teachers and staff, and work with the parent community.
