About the St Stephen's Drama Productions

St. Stephen has a long history of dramatic student productions from its early days in 1988 with Daughter's Pride and Is Nothing Sacred to more recent productions of Nothing But The Truth in 2024 and You're a Good Man Charlie Brown in 2025. With few exceptions, students from St. Stephen annually take to the stage for various shows and productions of their own devising as well.

The annual major production has been a five month long collaboration between the student performers, crew and the staff who support them in this extra-curricular. This years production of Shakespeare Refracted is a truly unique workshop styled production making use of traditional Shakespeare texts, new student driven text and addaptive re-writes of the concepts in those scenes from the orignal Shakespearean text. The scope of this production requires almost daily rehearsal to learn lines, movement and the unique challenge of writing from students and staff coming together to create something wholely new to our stage. The student and staff team have poured themselves into this production and cannot wait to share it with all of you.

Getting There

The entrance to St. Stephen is off of Scugog Street ONLY, exit onto Scugog Line ONLY.

From Clarington Highway 2 (South):

Take Bowmanville Avenue North to the lights at Longworth Avenue, turn right onto Longworth and take Longworth to the lights at Scugog Street. Turn left at the lights to go north on Scugog Street. The main driveway and parking lot for St. Stephen is just north of the digital sign.

From Taunton Road (North):

Take Taunton Road to Bowmanville Avenue and turn south at the lights with Taunton Road. Take Bowmanville Avenue to the lights at Longworth Avenue and turn left onto Longworth Avenue. Take Longworth to the lights at Scugog Street. Turn left at the lights to go north on Scugog Street. The main driveway and parking lot for St. Stephen is just north of the digital sign.
