What is the International Thespian Society?

The International Thespian Society (ITS), founded in 1929, is an honorary organization for high school and middle school theatre students located at more than 4,200 affiliated secondary schools across America, Canada, and abroad. The mission of ITS is to honor student achievement in the theatre arts. High school inductees are known as Thespians and junior high/middle school inductees are known as Junior Thespians. How do all the stars work?

The thespian point star system works by equating every ten points earned to one star. For example, a Thespian with 16 points would be a 1 star Thespian. Once the point total reaches 60, the thespian is officially considered an "Honor Thespian." Likewise, a Thespian with 78 points would be a 7 star Honor Thespian. A National Honor Thespian requires at least 120 points, while International Honor needs 180 points. Please see the chart below for a complete list of point values and their titles.
