Qualifying for Divisionals & State
How do I Advance to the Track and Field Division I Championships May 6, 2023?
On Saturday, April 29, 2023, the rankings from all State Qualifying meets within our division will be merged. They will be posted Monday, May 1st. The following entries will be allowed:
A maximum of 24 will qualify for running events.
A maximum of 16 relay teams will qualify for divisionals.
A maximum of 24 will qualify for Long and Triple Jump
A maximum of 24 will qualify for Discus and Shot Put
A maximum of 20 will qualify for Javelin, High Jump and Pole Vault.
If there is a tie for the last qualifying individual, then those tied will be admitted into the state meet.
An athlete may only be entered into four (4) events and must be entered by their coach by end of day Monday, May 1, 2023. All athletes submitted will be allowed entry to the District level meet Saturday May 6th, 2023.
How do I Advance to the Track and Field State Championships May 12-13, 2023?
On Saturday, April 29, 2023, the rankings from all State Qualifying meets with all divisions will be merged. They will be posted Monday, May 1st. The top six (6) in each event automatically qualify for participation in the State Championship meet.
Results from all Division Championships May 4-6, 2023 will be merged with the top six performances from State Qualifying Meets and posted May 8th. The top 30 will be eligible for entry into the State Meet - no entry is guaranteed.
• An athlete may only be entered into four (4) events and must be entered by their coach.
The State performance list will be published Wednesday May 10th from those eligible and entered - The top 18 entries will advance to State.
This is a compact schedule and we hope this explains why we are unable to provide a complete list of athletes competing at the state level until May 10th.

May 6th - Division I Meet, Day 2 at Red Mountain High School

Timing is subject to change & some events may be cancelled due to lack of participation. Additionally, some events may be co-ed based on timing and participation

Jumps, pole vault, and throws are 3 attempts and done; no finals (it is a dual meet)
Athletes MUST fuifill their obligation of the events they were registered for (unless injured or unable to compete)
If athletes are tardy to the meet, they may be removed from competition
The timing format is a rolling start to every event. They will start as soon as the previous event is finished. Athletes are required to know which events they are registered for and what times those events start. Additionally, they are required to check in with the clerk of the track to find heat and lane assignments. Coaches are NOT responsibile for athletes' events.
