Chromebooks are deployed to each site for student use. This allows for in class research, online tests or exams among other tasks. Each student has their own login and allows the ability for favorite sites to be bookmarked. The student may also customize settings such as wallpaper, font size and available plugins. Accessibility settings are also made available to each student.
Chromebooks are managed by the district. Students must use their district provided credentials to login. Formatting for login is username & password. (no need to add @pvlearners.net on this screen)
*Three unsuccessful login attempts will lock a users account for 15 minutes.
After logging in, the student may open their browser, or open email using the icons on the bottom of the screen.
Occasionally, an account will be unable to access a specific application while others are unaffected. Troubleshooting these issues usually begins with clearing the cache & cookies of the browser, and/or sometimes disabling extensions one by one until the issue is resolved.
If the Chromebook is not working as expected, one of the first steps recommended is clearing the cache. This can be done by clicking the three dots in the upper right hand corner, then looking for "Privacy and security", and then "Clear browsing data". You will see a popup appear.
Is is important to verify the following items before clicking the "Clear Data" button. Make sure all three check boxes are selected, and the drop down says "All Time". This will ensure all potential issues are cleared.
Chromebook Not Working
If your Chromebook stops functioning, or is damaged, please contact your school directly.
Unable to Login to Chromebook
If you are having trouble logging into your district provided Chromebook, please select the "Guest" option. This will allow you access into the device. Please visit auth.pvschools.net to continue to login as a student. This will give access to the student to see the apps list, pvlearners email and other available resources.
Unable to Join Webex
A common problem when joining a Webex meeting is that the "Join" button is greyed out. The fix is clicking the drop-down directly below the join button and selecting the Chromebook's video and mic. For some reason the Chome browser does not default select these devices.
