Yogalates & Wellness
Theatre Performance is an audition only, performance based course. Each school year, actors journey through the audition, rehearsal, performance and post-production process for two main stage productions, a mini-performance for SRMS STEAM Night, 6th grade assembly showcase, and a traveling workshop and performance opportunity in California. Tech week(s) and performances are mandatory and traditionally take place outside of regularly scheduled class time. Full year committment required, may repeat.
Fundamentals of Drama is a project based course where students may enjoy units in Reader's Theatre, Speechcraft, Pantomime, Masks, Puppetry, Radio Plays, & Improvisation. Students who take this course have a difficult time deciding their favorite project! One semester
Stagecraft is an immersive course designed to engage students in creative thinking, problem solving, service, and teamwork. Students may participate in several hands-on assignments including History of the Globe Theatre, Set & Prop Design, Costume & Makeup Design, & Publicity Campaigns. Class units are a combination of projects and theory. One semester

Yogalates & Wellness is a cooperative class where students of all levels support each other as they practice yoga, engage in pilates strengthening & stretching exercises, learn the value of proper breathing, finding your center for better balance, & relaxation techniques. Students enrolled in this class will create a wellness journal to document mindfulness activities, thoughts, & milestones. One semester, may repeat
Students accepted into Yearbook are responsible for planning, creating, designing, editing and selling the Sunrise Middle School Yearbook. Producing a yearbook teaches life skills such as time management and teamwork and allows for student creativity. This course is hard work yet rewarding. Students are required to attend events outside of regularly scheduled class time. Members of the yearbook class are otherwise known as The Sunny Side. Full year commitment, may repeat
