Thank you for supporting your child in learning to play an instrument. My hope is that every student enjoys their musical journey with me!
I have a wide variety of musical experiences in & out of the classroom. I’ve taught band, orchestra, choir, and general music classes to students from kindergarten to college, including percussion ensembles, marching/pep band, & jazz ensemble/combos. As a professional musician, I’ve played alto sax, piano, oboe; I also sing rock & jazz with a couple of groups in the Valley.
Instrumental music is a unique class that builds self-esteem and discipline while teaching students cooperation and problem solving. Evidence continues to focus on how the arts provide valuable contributions in your child’s development and growth.
As your child’s director, my goals are to: provide engaging activities; develop strong fundamentals; nurture individual and ensemble growth; and provide all students with a positive musical education with opportunities for students to excel. Additionally, I maintain a positive and safe environment so that students receive a quality musical experience that develops good citizenship and a lifelong appreciation for the arts.
A successful instrumental music program depends on open communication with myself, parents, students, school staff, and PVUSD administration. Please be assured that any questions/concerns are very important to me. Always contact me with questions or concerns; email is the quickest way to reach me.
