School Year 2021 - 2022
Dear Parents and Students,
Welcome to 7th Grade English Language Arts and English Language Development/SEI classes. It is my privilege to have your child in my class this year. Middle school is an exciting time with many new challenges and experiences. As your child’s English Language Arts teacher, I make every effort to provide a safe and stimulating learning environment to meet each child’s individual needs. In turn, students are expected to actively participate in the classroom, and in their learning and studying skills. Students are also encouraged to learn responsible behaviors and develop essential character traits.
The lesson topics, activities, assignments, and assessments for English language arts appropriately challenge students and meet state standards for all English language arts classes. I have tried to list all of the activities, homework assignments, and quizzes for the week in each of the homework calendars; however, there may be changes to these schedules as we move through the weeks.
Students can expect to take a variety of quizzes, tests, and assessments throughout the week. Homework is typically assigned Monday through Thursday; however, there may on occasion, be assignments that require work at home through the weekend.
Please check your child’s Google Classroom daily for assignment, quiz, test, and assessment due dates. If you'd like to join your child's Google Classroom for ELA or SEI class, please send me an email and I will add you to the Google Classroom to receive class information.
If you have any concerns or questions about your child’s educational experience in my classroom, please do not hesitate to contact me. I prefer to communicate by e-mail, and I will respond to e-mails before and after school, and during my prep period.
