First, you will need your own organization system: either a 3-ring binder for all of your subjects with a section for English or a pocket folder for English only. Use a system that works for you.
A personal planner/agenda to help you stay organized (DSMS will provide one!)
1 composition notebook -- 100 pages/college ruled *Please get a plain, cheap notebook because we are going to decorate the cover! Also, we will use over 80 pages so you DO need one that has 100 pages, college ruled :)

#2 pencils or mechanical pencils
colored pencils (a full set)
2-3 grading/editing pens of different colors (not black or blue)
scissors
3 highlighters—yellow, pink, & blue (we will color-code our writing with these specific colors)
tape (double-sided works best) OR glue stick - your preference
1 pack post-it notes (3x3)
300 index cards (for your Greek and Latin Stems)
black sharpie
one plastic pocket folder - this will be used to hold your Stems notecards
wired earbuds to use in class (wireless earbuds aren't allowed on campus)

All novels will be provided by the school to borrow. If you like to write notes in your books or highlight passages for reference, feel free to purchase the books on your own.
