About Mr. Bustos

I grew up in a town in Southern California named Rancho Cucamonga with my parents and younger sister. I attended Rancho Cucamonga High School and then went on to study at Cal State San Bernardino, where I majored in history. After college I worked as a restaurant server, tutor, magazine writer, and substitute teacher for a few years before I started grad school. I earned my MA in History at Cal State Fullerton, where I focused my studies on American History, specifically late 19th and early 20th century history. After graduate school I took a job in the Great Hearts charter school network for four years before coming to Horizon. This year I will be teaching AP US History, Dual Enrollment American History, in addition to serving as the sponsor for National Honors Society (NHS). In my spare time I enjoy watching sports, reading, watching movies,cooking, learning guitar, and going to new restaurants in the Phoenix Area.
