Welcome back to school, and more importantly, to 5th grade! Although the summer break was awesome, I'm excited to get back to school and ready for a great year!
For those of you who don't know me, here's a little bit about myself! This will be my fourteenth year at Grayhawk. I've taught both fifth and sixth grade, but I'm happy to have planted some "roots" in fifth. I absolutely love the Grayhawk staff, students, and families, and have made some of my best friends here! I'm excited to create even more memories with all of you this year.
I was born in Chicago, but grew up in Scottsdale. I still love visiting Chicago...if it weren't for the freezing winters, I wouldn't mind living there again! After graduating high school, I got a journalism degree from Arizona State University (go Devils!). After a few years, I decided to go back to school and get my teaching certificate. It was the best decision I ever made!
When I'm not at school, I love spending time with my family and friends. I also LOVE watching sports. You'll usually find me watching football on the weekends during football season, but my favorite sport is baseball! I've been a huge Cubs fan for as long as I can remember. Some of my other hobbies are cooking and baking (I started a little side business selling decorated shortbread cookies), reading, spending time outdoors, and hanging out with family and friends. Traveling is also something I enjoy, especially if it involves a beach!
I'm really looking forward to getting to know all of you better this year and learning lots of new things together!
