The subjects that I personally tutor (Earth Science & Algebra) are generally taught in 8th 9th or 10th grade. So students are getting old enough to have input on many decisions that are going on in their lives.
So, below I will address each of you in two separate videos...
Thank you for considering me to tutor your child. I very much enjoy tutoring, and would be honored to help your child get past any hurdles that may be in their way throughout the year, or crunch with them before exams. In the video below I will open up and tell you a bit about myself to help aide in your decision. I truly believe that my upbringing along with past work experiences have helped me become the fun, interesting, effective educator that I am today and I would love to help reach as many students as possible.
Thank you for taking the time to consider me!
In the videos below you will see a sample Math lesson, as well as a sample Earth Science Lesson/Review. Regardless whether you opt to do tutoring with me you should check them out as they both will help you come State Exam time!
Here I will talk to you one on one about a topic on the Common Core Algebra 1 Exam that many students struggle with. The topic is "Systems of Linear Inequalities". I will show how to manipulate equations to get them in graph-able form, how to graph a line, whether to use a solid or dotted line, talk about if you should shade up or down, and discuss the importance of putting arrows on, and labeling your lines. Then we will talk quickly about the "Solution Set", and the common misconceptions of students that the regents tries to take advantage of in order to trick you into picking the wrong answer.
As the title implies, this video will review ~50 facts that you must have memorized to be successful on the Earth Science State Test. I will give you silly tips and tricks along the way to help you remember them all, as 50 things is a lot to memorize.
