About Mrs. Chelpka

I am Mrs. Chelpka and I am teaching 5th grade at Paradise Valley Christian Preparatory this year. This will be my 11th year teaching at PVCP, and I'm really looking forward to it. I taught 3rd grade for two years, 5th grade for seven years, and Middle School Math and Science for one year in the 2022-2023 school year. I am so excited to teach 5th grade again this year. I am thrilled to teach all about God's world and the love He has for all of His children.

I graduated with an Elementary Education Degree from Arizona Christian University. 

I got married in October of 2016 to a wonderful Christian man. He also graduated from Arizona Christian University with a Christian Ministries Degree and a High School Physical Education Certification. 

We have a six year old son, Curtis, who is going into 1st grade this year and a two-year-old daughter, Savannah. They are the light of our lives, and we love them so much! We also have an adorable dog named Phoenix. He is a Schipperke, and we love him very much! 

I played many sports growing up. I danced when I was very young, starting at the age of four, and played volleyball, basketball, and competed in track and field. In volleyball, I was a setter, right side hitter, and a defensive specialist. I played point guard and forward in basketball. In track and field, I was a sprinter, hurdler, and a thrower for shot-put, discus, and a bit of javelin. I went on to play volleyball and competed in track and field for two years at Arizona Christian University.

Aside from teaching, volleyball is my passion. I played volleyball for eleven years, and coached for eleven years. I coached two years as the middle school volleyball coach at PVCP. I was the Junior Varsity coach at Horizon High School for seven years. I also coached club volleyball at Revolution Volleyball Academy for eight years, and have led many other clinics at other facilities. I am taking a break from coaching to focus on family.

Another hobby I enjoy is crafting - specifically painting and using my silhouette machine - and I love going to the beach over the summer with my family.
