Welcome back!!

Students report on Tuesday, September 8, 2020

We are all excited to welcome students back for a new year!!

This is a unique year for all of us. In-person and virtual instruction is our new normal. That's ok. We move forward and do our best, no matter what the circumstances!

Please remember to check your emails daily, and work on assignments to stay up to date. Email your teachers when you are stuck on something - keep communicating with them as needed! You can also email me, Mrs. Franco, our counselors, and nurse. We're here to support and help you during this unprecedented time. We'll get through this together!

Important points to know....

Meetings will be virtual unless other arrangements are approved by Mrs. Collazo-Franco or me.

  • If a parent would like to request a hard copy of his/her child's progress report and/or report card, please contact the guidance office. Final report cards will be mailed home in the summer.

  • When there is snow on the ground, students are not to be throwing snowballs, messing around in the snow, throwing snow at cars/buses/friends, etc. Consequences will be issued for time in the Reset Room. Students should wait until they get home to have snowball fights, etc., due to the the safety issue (kids getting hurt - slipping, falling, getting too aggressive with the game, snowballs being thrown at cars/buses, etc.).

  • Students need their IDs daily (except in gym class).

  • If you would like to set up a virtual meeting with your child's teacher, please contact the guidance office.

        • Ms. O'Shea - students with last names beginning with A - K

        • Ms. Niblock - L - Z

  • If Music concerts are in-person this year, then the following applies: Please see District website (www.psdnet.org)

        • All students must be accompanied by an adult family member and remain with the family member during the music performances. Previously many students were just dropped off and there were countless disruptions during the performances even to the point where the police needed to be called. Many parents complained about the disruptions as well. These performances are for our students and their families and staff to enjoy, rather than filled with disruptions that take away from the concerts. We appreciate your understanding and support of our music programs!

  • Reminders about cell phone usage and picture-taking: cell phones: students are not to use their cell phones for any reason once they enter the school building. Interruptions create disruptions in class along with distracting the students. Also, if students are not feeling well, they are to email the nurse for permission to leave class (msnurse@pv-eagles.org). The nurse will respond to the student via email. Due to the pandemic, we can't have multiple students in the Nurse's office at once. She will determine if a student will go home or not.

  • If a student has an emergency, he/she needs to report to the office to get permission to use the phone.

  • V-Soft/Raptor Technology: Visitor Information System

        • We continue to utilize the V-Soft/Raptor system, which is a visitor identification system, at the middle school. V-Soft helps to track visitors, parents, contractors, college adjuncts, etc.- basically, anyone entering the building that may be coming into contact with our students. V-Soft has the capability of providing alerts, once an ID is scanned into the system, on people who may jeopardize the safety of our school. When a visitor enters the building, he/she will be required to show a valid state-issued driver’s license or state-issued ID (such as a Passport) which will be scanned through the V-Soft system. You will be expected to show your ID upon every visit to our school. We appreciate your understanding that safety is our first concern.

        • What if I don't have a license or a passport?

The County Sheriff's Dept. issues County ID's for Senior Citizens (55 & older) and children (17 & younger) FREE of charge. Call the Sheriff's dept. for more info: 856-935-7510 ext 8375The County Clerk's office issues everyone else for a fee. Call the County Clerk for more info.:856-935-7510 ext. 8206.

        • What do I need to get an ID?

In order to receive a county ID, the person needs to show his/her birth certificate, Social Security card, and valid proof of residence.

  • What if I have moved? Changed phone numbers/email?

If you have moved within town, you will need to see Mrs. Denise Allen at the District Office to update your information. You must provide 3 'proofs' of your new address; one of those three must be a mortgage note/lease agreement/rental agreement. If you've gotten a new phone number or have updated your email address, you may contact Mrs. Doukali (gdoukali@pv-eagles.org), Middle School Secretary.

  • PowerSchool Access

If you do not have your parental access ID or Password for Power School, please call the school 856-540-6200, or email Mrs. Doukali (gdoukali@pv-eagles.org).

GO EAGLES!!!
