The Oldest of the Crew

I am beginning my 25th year of teaching! Wow, time flies. What I hope to be and do for your child is the same I would want for me at the age of 4 (see photo) or my own children!

I have been a Putnam County girl since my parents, Hank and Linda Fettig, and big sister Sabrina Fettig Garr (PC class of '87) moved from the Seattle area in 1974. I graduated with Dr. Halley and a few other staff members in 1991. From there, I attend North Central Missouri College, then Graceland, and finally on to William Woods for my Master's Degree. I began my teaching career at the Newtown-Harris R-III School. There I enjoyed teaching special education K-12 for four years. Then I returned home to teach Preschool at Putnam. I am proud to say some of those preschoolers are now teachers themselves. I taught preschool for two years and then moved to middle school. There I taught Reading, Strategies, Class Within A Class, and Special Education for 14 years. I also enjoyed many years of coaching jr. high cheerleading. Five years ago, I made my way back to the preschool setting.

During my college years and teaching career thus far, I got married, raised two daughters, and various pets. I have been married to my high school sweetheart, Shane Salisbury ('89 PC graduate), for 26 years. He is a District Specialist IV for Putnam County Soil and Water District. Our oldest daughter, Shaylee, also PC alumni class of 2015, recently graduated from Ozark Christian College in Joplin with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Christian Ministry and major in Biblical Justice. Katelyn, our youngest is a SENIOR at PC this year! She is involed in many activities and clubs. You can watch#11 out on the softball fields starting very soon! GO LADY MIDGETS!

If I find a free minute, I love to spend time with family/friends, appreciate what God has blessed me with, cook, create craft projects, go fishing, go to the lake, go for walks, read, ride the 4-wheeler, watch movies, and TRAVEL!
