Ms. Dennice’s Transitional Kindergarten News

Week of August 26-30, 2019

NEWS: It has been another full and busy week for us. We are still practicing and working on the rules and routines. But we also started our letter, number, shape, and color of the week. 😅

🌞**In the mornings: Students can drop their bags off at the classroom, then are expected to go to the steps by the elementary office. From there, they will either get to go outside (morning recess) weather permitting or they will wait in the gym until the morning bell rings. They will come to my room after this time and pick a “greeting” of their choice.

Backpacks

Please be sure to check your child’s backpack every evening. They may have had accidents and need their clothes refilled and washed. (If you see that their baggie that has extra clothes is put in their bookbags, than that means it needs refilled please.) There may be papers in their backpacks that need to be filled out and returned to school. So please be on the lookout! 😁

FRIDAY FOLDERS are sent home every Friday and need to be cleaned out and returned. If there is homework and/or paperwork to be filled out please return that in the folder as well. Thanks!😉

BOOK ORDER:

The book order was sent home last week. Today is the due date. So if you still wish to order online, please do so by 4:00. The online code for our class is TL2Q4.

MILK MONEY: If a student has not brought money for a milk ticket, they may not get a choice of chocolate milk for snack time. Milk tickets are $1.75 for a week of punches and $7.00 for 20 punches.

NEXT WEEK:

Letter: Bb

Number: 2 (two)

Color: red

Shape: oval

Review: Rules and routines

I’m working harder at trying to keep track of points on class dojo. I use the whole class points to “reward” the students. I put pom-pom balls in a jar and when the jar gets full, they get to vote on a class party.

*Please remind your student that it is important to listen and follow directions. Several still want to do whatever they want to do. We are working on that and also working on our social interactions.

Next week is the Putnam County Fair and will will be dismissing school @ 1:14, Tuesday through Thursday. Because of this early out schedule we will not have snack time. We will still have rest time, however it may be shorter.

Things that need to come back to school:

  • Friday folder
  • Homework
  • Rest mat
  • Snack for snack time (every day)
  • Milk and/or lunch money (if needed)
