Dear Middle School Students, Families, and Staff,

Welcome to the start of an exciting new school year at Putnam Middle School! As we open our doors tomorrow, we want to warmly greet all of our returning families and extend a special welcome to those joining our middle school community for the first time.

We're excited to launch our new weekly newsletter designed to keep our school community connected and informed. Your input is welcomed in shaping this resource, so we will appreciate your suggestions and feedback to make this newsletter as useful and engaging as possible for all our families.

PMS News & Updates!!!

At the Open House next week, you will have the opportunity to “Meet and greet” all new staff, introduce yourselves to your students' teachers, and open lines of communication for all. Students will also be able to meet their teachers, practice opening their lockers, and take a tour of their new classrooms. The evening will begin with a whole group "Welcome Back Kick-Off" in the auditorium.

Last week, homeroom assignments, student schedules, a district calendar, and PowerSchool login information were mailed home. Bus routes, food service information, and ParentSquare access information can all be viewed on the Putnam Public School website: https://www.putnamschoolsct.org. Please know that PowerSchool is temporarily not working. We will let you know when it is back up and running.

Your student will receive a Student Agenda this week. It is used as an organizer and assignment tracker. We'd like to ask parents to work together with the teachers and students to monitor the proper use of the agenda to maximize student performance and further enhance communication between home and school. We will also utilize Google Classroom this year to add another communication layer.
