Girls Build at John Muir High School took on a project that required the use of electronic, assembly, creative, and problem building skills to assemble and modify a battery operated toy vehicle. These assemblies and modifications are being made to aid disabled youth in SoCal. Children who face limited mobility and limited access to expensive medical equipment for mobility have the right to move and play just as everyone else. We hope to increase their independence, movement, and opportunities to play and be curious (just like us). Our modified vehicles will strive to do that in a fun and creative way. Our vehicles are also a much more economic answer for families as they are a donation from our club (compare $150-$300 for a toy vehicle to $10k+ for a wheelchair).
