This year's main project is "Go, Baby, Go!", where we strive to modify 1-3 toy vehicles to better suit the needs of physically impaired children. In a world where their needs are put on the backburner, our team aims to increase mobility in a fun way for the child while decreasing the financial load that tends to come with medical disability equipment. A challenge this year is having a smaller team (about 3-4 active members), therefore less hands to work on the physical project, but we are being supported by the knowledge of previous Student Build members. They have left behind for us an exemplary modified toy vehicle, and documented build, testing, and prototype data. We have also been working closely with a volunteer and physical therapist from this organization to ensure our models go out to specific children and families in need. We're currently working on our first toy car, but we hope to finish the base soon and connect with a family to further customize the model to the child's interests and needs.
