Purdy’s Barks and Bubbles – Terms & Conditions
By booking an appointment with Purdy’s Barks and Bubbles, you agree to the following terms:
Appointments, Cancellations & Late Arrivals
A minimum of 48 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule an appointment.
Failure to provide sufficient notice may result in a charge of up to 100% of the service fee.
Clients arriving more than 15 minutes late may have their appointment refused, and the full grooming fee may still apply.
Arrival & Collection
· Please arrive at your scheduled appointment time (not early), as time is allocated for consultation.
· A collection time will be provided at drop-off. This may vary depending on your dog’s behaviour and coat condition. If the time needs to change, we will contact you.
· A £5 fee per 30 minutes may apply for late collection after a 30-minute grace period.
· If you arrive early for collection, please remain out of sight to avoid distracting your dog during grooming.
Dog Health & Welfare
You confirm your dog is fit, healthy, and up to date with vaccinations.
We do not accept sedated or pregnant dogs for grooming.
If your dog becomes unwell, overly stressed, or unsafe to groom, we reserve the right to stop the session, and charges will apply based on time spent.
In the event of a medical concern, we will attempt to contact you and may seek veterinary treatment at your expense if necessary.
Fleas & Parasites
Dogs found to have fleas will be treated immediately to prevent cross-contamination.
A £20 flea treatment fee will be applied to cover products and salon cleaning.
Owners will be advised to treat their pet and home environment.
Behaviour
If your dog shows aggressive or unsafe behaviour, we may use a muzzle or stop the groom.
You agree to inform us of any behavioural issues in advance.
You are responsible for any injury or damage caused by your dog, including veterinary or medical costs where applicable.
Grooming Style
We will groom your dog to your requested style where possible, considering coat condition, behaviour, and welfare.
If this is not possible, we will discuss and agree on a suitable alternative.
Coat Condition & Grooming Risks
Grooming, especially de-matting or clipping heavily matted coats, may expose or cause skin irritation, patchiness, or minor abrasions.
Purdy’s Barks and Bubbles cannot be held liable for issues arising from pre-existing conditions, coat condition, or non-disclosure.
Your dog’s welfare will always take priority over achieving a specific style.
Grooming involves close handling and equipment, and there is always a small risk of minor irritation or injury.
After grooming, dogs may experience mild redness, sensitivity, or temporary discomfort, particularly in sensitive areas or where matting has been removed.
If an Injury Occurs
You will be informed as soon as possible
First aid will be provided where appropriate
Veterinary care will be recommended if needed
Responsibility
We are responsible for injuries directly caused during grooming where it is clear they occurred during the grooming process. All concerns must be reported within 24 hours of the appointment.
We are not responsible for:
Pre-existing conditions or sensitive skin
Reactions related to matting, coat condition, or behaviour
Issues reported after 24 hours where proper assessment is no longer possible

Photos & Records
We may take photographs before, during, and after grooming for records and marketing. Please inform us if you do not wish your dog’s photos to be used publicly.
You agree to provide accurate information regarding your dog’s health, allergies, and behaviour.

3. Missed Appointments, Late Arrivals & Cancellations
Cancellations or rescheduling require at least 48 hours’ notice.
Appointments cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice may be subject to a charge of up to 100% of the service fee.
Missed appointments (“no-shows”) may be charged up to 100% of the service fee.
Clients arriving more than 15 minutes late may have their appointment refused, and the full grooming fee may still be charged.
4. Fleas, Matting & Behaviour
Additional charges for:
These charges are non-refundable, as they reflect additional time and care required.
5. Health & Safety
If a grooming service cannot be completed due to a dog’s health, behaviour, or welfare concerns, a partial fee may be charged based on the time spent.
6. Allergic Reactions or Sensitivities

Vaccination Policy
We welcome all dogs at Purdy’s Barks and Bubbles, including unvaccinated dogs, however certain conditions apply to protect the health and safety of all animals in our care.
Owner Responsibility
By bringing an unvaccinated dog to the salon, you acknowledge and accept full responsibility for any illness, infection, or health-related issues that may arise before or after the appointment.
Purdy’s Barks and Bubbles cannot be held liable for any illnesses contracted.
Cleaning & Biosecurity Charge
To maintain a safe environment for all dogs, a deep cleaning and sanitation charge will apply after grooming an unvaccinated dog. This covers disinfecting equipment and the salon space.
Appointment Time Restrictions
Unvaccinated dogs must be booked into an afternoon appointment slot only, to reduce contact with other dogs and allow additional cleaning time where required.
Right to Refuse Service
We reserve the right to refuse service if we believe there is any increased risk to other dogs, staff, or the salon environment.
Final Note
Your dog’s welfare remains our priority, and we will always take reasonable steps to provide a safe and hygienic grooming environment for all clients.
MATTED COAT POLICY & RELEASE
Removing matted hair is sometimes necessary for your dog’s welfare. When a coat is too tangled to brush or comb safely, the most humane option is to clip or shave the matted areas. This is the quickest and least stressful way to groom a severely matted dog.
Risks of Matting
Matted coats can cause or hide serious problems, including:
Skin irritation from trapped dirt, moisture, and parasites
Painful pulling of the skin, leading to sores and hair loss
Skin infections or other conditions only visible once the coat is removed
In severe cases, infected wounds or parasites under the coat
Skin sensitivity or irritation after close clipping
Ear discomfort or bruising from excessive head shaking after grooming
Charges & Procedure
De-matting or clipping matted coats requires extra time and care.
Additional charges will apply depending on the severity of the matting.
We will always prioritise your dog’s comfort and welfare during the process.
Client Agreement
By booking this service, you agree that:
Your dog may need to be fully or partially clipped due to matting
You authorise Purdy’s Barks and Bubbles to carry out the necessary grooming
You accept responsibility for all charges relating to matting
You release Purdy’s Barks and Bubbles from liability for any issues arising from the de-matting process, including irritation, skin sensitivity, or conditions revealed during grooming
Veterinary Care
If we believe your dog needs veterinary attention during or after grooming, we will contact you. Any veterinary costs are the owner’s responsibility.
Final Note
Your dog’s welfare will always come first.
