Most Importantly-students may not continue in the process without it:
A literature review of community college marketing focus groups yields approximately half of the colleges evaluated ‘presented transfer information in a very accessible way online.’ Follow-up interviews with community college advisors also expressed frustration about the university’s website (31).
“Most entering community college students intend to earn a bachelor’s degree or higher, yet the vast majority are not successful in reaching this goal and instead encounter a complicated process with little guidance,” (30).
“The lack of clear information about transfer requirements may in part explain why so few bachelor’s-intending students who make substantial progress at community college do not even enroll (let alone complete) at a 4-year institution,” (31).
“Transfer-intending community college students may not successfully make the leap to a 4-year institution because they are unable to navigate the complex transfer maze,” (33).
