Diane Sykes

In Memory of Diane Sykes

Diane Sykes passed away on March 12, 2024, after a long battle with cancer. Diane was an Adjunct Marketing Instructor in the School of Business & Information Technology for the last 15 years. Her students loved her. One student noted that Diane was “great at describing things and has a real love for teaching and it shows.” Outside of Purdue Global, Diane was a banker, holding the office of Assistant Vice President/Trust Officer. She also worked with her husband in the family-owned, biker-friendly, Steel Steeds Motorcycle Campgrounds near her home in Milton, PA. Diane was most proud of the campground and had several journal publications reporting on research that she had collaborated with colleagues on. Diane was always cheerful and easy to work with. Diane will be dearly missed by her colleagues in the School of Business and Information Technology.

Martin Pritikin

Champion for Access to Justice, PGLS Dean Continues to Move Law School Forward

Martin Pritikin’s passion for access to justice is arguably unmatched. Since being appointed Dean and Vice President of Purdue Global Law School (PGLS) in 2016, Pritikin has leveraged his experience as a lawyer and innovative educator to move what was already a progressive law school to the next level.

“One of the reasons I left a traditional brick-and-mortar law school after being there for 12 years is because I really believed in the online model and its ability to bring down cost and expand access,” Pritikin said. “Law school isn’t for everybody, but if you want it, your ZIP code or your tax bracket shouldn’t be the reason you don’t go." Purdue Global Featured at Ivy Tech's Largest Conference

In April 2024, Purdue Global had the honor of sponsoring and participating in OneSummit, Ivy Tech Community College's largest annual event, which brought together over 600 leaders from across the state. Liz Fitzgerald, Director of the Center for Teaching and Learning, and Rhonda Neal, Transfer Student Support Administrator, delivered a compelling session titled "The Green Light for Best Practices in Online Teaching." This presentation showcased online teaching best practices and highlighted the faculty development opportunities offered by CTL.

As a sponsor of the event, Purdue Global had a dedicated resource table and utilized strategic messaging via the event app to promote our Pathways Partnership, showcase our new Ivy Tech transfer video, advertise graduate education opportunities, and more. It was a fantastic opportunity to engage with the Ivy Tech community and strengthen our partnership.
