The Center for Career Advancement is here to assist students and graduates in implementing written communication into their job search and beyond to maintain and grow in their Careers.  A major component of this is to articulate an individuals strengths and skills in a variety of ways, which includes the utilization of their Skills Report into their job search: 

Here is how students can utilize and articulate their Skills Report into their Job Search:

• Resume - Utilize the individualized skills report, degree plan, course descriptions, and job description to tailor the resume to each role 

• Cover Letter - Use the cover letter as an opportunity to bridge the gap between skills and professional experience to the position you are applying for

• Skill Market - Showcase related skills, education, military experience, volunteer work, clinical rotations, civilian work experience, hard skills, and soft skills to show a clear connection between the candidate and the position 

• Interviewing - Prepare for behavioral interview questions by drafting an outline of tasks and accomplishments that are directly aligned to top skills for the role 

• Thank you letter - Advise students to thank the employer for the interview and align their skills, experience, and qualifications directly to the position, again!

• Affinity Groups – Supporting specific identity groups

• Associations – Open to students who align with the specific requirements

• Honor Societies – 11 total societies to join based on program and academic success
