Celebrate Scholarship Day 2025

The Purdue University Global School of Nursing’s Faculty Scholarship Committee proudly presents the fifth annual Celebrate Scholarship Day (CSD). The virtual scholarship conference will be held on November 13, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM ET. Conference Registration is now open. Registration is not required, but will help for our planning purposes and to give you targeted information related to the schedule of events and conference information! 

Embracing the spirit of inquiry, the PG SON is thrilled to present CSD with a focus on research, innovation and wellness that underpins the profession of nursing. As an ever evolving discipline, nursing thrives on the foundation of evidence-based practices and cutting-edge technologies that continuously redefine the boundaries of patient care. This year's theme underscores our commitment to fostering a culture of inquiry and discovery, where scholarly endeavors are not merely an academic pursuit, but a lived reality that shapes the very fabric of our healthcare system. Scholarship Day is a celebration of the indomitable spirit that propels our nurturers of tomorrow to push the boundaries of what is possible, to question the status quo, and to weave a brighter future for patients and practitioners alike. Join us as we honor the trailblazers whose dedication to lifelong learning and boundless curiosity illuminate the path of nursing excellence, ensuring that the torch of knowledge and compassion burns brightly for generations to come.

Everyone is welcome to come and share a wonderful experience of learning about current trends in education, leadership, and innovation. Students, faculty, and staff from all programs will find the focus and content of this conference meaningful and applicable.

The PG SON Faculty Scholarship Committee proudly presents its Lunch N’ Learn Series. The Lunch N’ Learn title is “Becoming a Special Edition Journal Editor: From Idea to Publication”. Dr Deborah Adelman and Dr LauraKay Wood are the presenters.  The virtual 45-minute Lunch N’ Learn will be held on July 22, 2025, @ 12:00 PM EST. 

Outcomes: By the end of the presentation, the participant will be able to:

#1 Identify two ideas for a special edition nursing journal.

#2 Select two journals that would support their writing ideas for a special edition.

#3 Break down the role of a special issues editor.

#4 Choose appropriate peer reviewers for submitted manuscripts.
