Exploring and Engaging Further

The Diversity Series is a group of learning modules developed to personalize the student learning experience and improve student outcomes. Learner characteristics are identified with the goal of thinking about each student and how best to meet their learning needs based on the given characteristics. Each module examines the environment and resources available to provide an experience that supports intellectual inquiry. Tools are also provided to help formulate strategies that enhance the academic climate inside and outside of the classroom.

Workshop Outcomes

At the end of this module, you will be able to:

• • Review the meaning of the terms, ‘diversity’ and ‘inclusion.’

  • Understand the exigency of exploring and engaging further.

  • Learn strategies for creating an inclusive classroom culture.

  • Discuss additional ways for exploring and engaging with diversity and inclusion within and beyond the classroom.

Workshop Completion Requirements

The Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) has established standards that qualify this workshop for professional development hours.  Successful completion requires completing all module elements and earning 80% or higher on the workshop assessment and qualifies as 1 professional development hour.
