Instructions for Graduates on Commencement Day
Graduates report to The Armory: 812 3rd Street | West Lafayette
(Across street from Elliott Hall)
Graduate Line Up:
Report to Armory for line up 45 min before ceremony start time
IMPORTANT: Bring name card for stage crossing (mailed) - This card is used to call your name as you cross the stage
No check-in required
Proceed to the photography station for headshot photo
Line up by number for processional (line up number noted at bottom of name card)
Graduate processional into the theater begins 15 min before ceremony start time
Post-Ceremony: Meet guests at fountain (behind Elliott Hall)

In Person Ceremony FAQs
How many guests can I bring? Do they need a ticket?
There is no guest limit, and tickets are NOT required for graduates or guests.
When do I receive my diploma?
Diplomas are mailed to the address on file 8 weeks after completion of your final class and once all program requirements have been confirmed by University officials. Diplomas are not distributed at the graduation ceremonies.

How can my guests watch the ceremony from home?
Public live stream links for each ceremony will be posted on the Showroom and anyone with this link can view the ceremony: Showroom.PurdueGlobal.edu
Recordings are available on Purdue Global's YouTube channel immediately after the live stream.
I registered for the in-person ceremony but can no longer attend. Will my name still be called?
If you registered for the in-person ceremony and did not officially change your participation to virtual by the registration deadline, then your name will not be called at the in-person or virtual ceremony. Names are only called at the in person ceremony for those in attendance. Names are only called at the virtual ceremony of those who registered for the virtual ceremony by the registration deadline.
How do I know when my name will be called?
You will receive an email with your assigned ceremony time. The schedule is also be posted on the Showroom six weeks before the ceremony date. Names are called in order they are listed in the program.
In which ceremony can I walk? Can I walk at a later date?
Ceremonies are open to all Purdue Global and Purdue Global Law School graduates. Students may attend any ceremony that takes place after their final term ends.
Can I walk with a family member who is also graduating?
Absolutely! If you and a family member are both graduating from Purdue Global, let us know so you can walk together! Email graduation@purdueglobal.edu.
Please be advised that only Purdue Global graduating students may participate in the commencement ceremony, including the staging room, walking in the processional, graduate seating area and crossing the stage. If a personal assistant is required as a disability accommodation, please contact graduation@purdueglobal.edu.

What is a virtual ceremony? Will I be seen on camera? Do I need a special link?

There are 3 virtual viewing options:
Zoom Watch Party: Exclusive to graduates and faculty. Zoom link sent via email. Graduates can have their camera on to be seen by other Watch Party attendees and interact via video call or the chat box.
YouTube Live Stream: Public viewing on Purdue Global's YouTube channel. Ceremony links posted Sept 30 on Showroom homepage.
Recording: Posted on Purdue Global's YouTube channel immediately after the live stream.
How can my guests watch the ceremony?
Purdue Global's YouTube channel will have the live stream and recording of each ceremony.
Do I need cap and gown for the virtual ceremony?
No, you do not need a cap and gown, but are welcome to wear one. To participate in the ceremonial tassel turning, you can purchase any black cap/tassel (mortarboard) on Amazon.
