I. Anatomy, histology and morphogenesis of the organs of the digestive system in vertebrates (reptiles, birds and mammals) with histodifferentiation of the structures of the mucosa.
(Tasks: Morphofunctional and comparative analysis of the structure of tongue and palate with taste organ in selected feeding groups of mammals and birds; Ultrastructural and molecular characteristics of para- and ortokeratinization processes in the oral cavity in domestic and wild-living birds and mammals; Ultrastructure of the gallbladder and biliary tract in vertebrates)
II. Anatomy, histology and morphogenesis of the organs of the reproductive system and urinary system
(Tasks: Spatial 3D reconstruction and topography of the genital and urinary organs in pre- and postnatal period in female cats; Morphogenesis of the ovary, fallopian tube and the uterus)
III. Angioarchitecture of the organs of the digestive and reproductive systems with special emphasis to the process of angiogenesis
(Tasks: Spatial arrangement and development of vascular system in the selected organs of the digestive and genital tract in mammalian species; Ultrastructural and immunohistochemical analysis of the development of capillary networks).
I. Light microscopy (LM):
- Preparation of histological slides (paraffin and resin method)
- Topographic, histochemical and immunohistochemical methods. Morphometric analysis of histological slides
- Methods of three-dimensional analysis (3D imaging) of microscopic structures
- Raman spectroscopy
II. Scanning and transmission electron microscopy (SEM, TEM):
- Methods of preparation of biological and non-biological samples
Maceration techniques
III. Microcorrosion casting - methods of preparation of vascular corrosion casts (VCC) of the blood vessels networks for the three-dimensional visualization of the angioarchitecture on the examined organs in the scanning electron microscope.
