Google Meet Help Info
1. Make sure your Gmail app is deleted from your iPad.
2. Make sure Hangouts by Meet is installed from Self Service.
3. If Hangouts by Meet is installed, go to Self Service and reinstall it. This will install any updates.
4. Make sure your iPad is up to date with system updates. To do this go to Settings > General > Software Update and make sure it is 13.7. Don't just look to see if there is a notification - even with notifications turned on, sometimes they don't show up!
5. Restart your iPad.
6. Make sure you are logged onto Meets with your school account. To do this open the Meets app, click your picture in the upper right hand corner. Make sure your @pulaskischools.org email is chosen.
7. Double, triple check to make sure the nickname is typed in correctly. No hyphens (even if it shows one in Canvas), check spacing, etc.
If you have tried all of this, please contact our district technology people and they will be able to assist you.
Noise Cancellation - Something that has been added to Google Meets recently was to use noise cancellation to cancel background noise. To do this click on the three dots, settings, noice cancellation!
Google Meets Opens Gmail - There is a known issue that is you have Hangouts by Meet app and the Gmail app, when you try to open a Google Meet it will open your Gmail instead. After lots of trouble shooting we have found the easiest solution is to just delete the Gmail app and just use the Mail app instead.
Microphone Doesn't Work - We have found with the recent update, Google Meet is asking for permission to use your microphone again. To fix this, go into settings on your iPad, find Privacy, click on Microphone and give Google Meets permission.
