What We Do

We know how hard our teachers and staff work and are committed to making sure they feel appreciated! 

• We have supplied our amazing staff with a "Room Service" snack during our Welcome Back Professional Development days in August 

• The PTO and its volunteers provides dinner on a Parent Teacher Conference night in Fall & Spring

• A Hot Cocoa bar helps our staff press through those cold months

• The Scholastic Book Fair provides every teacher and specialist “scholastic dollars” to purchase books and other materials for their classrooms

The PTO raises funding for our exclusive "Artist in Residence" program.

Each year Glenbrook hosts an artist for a entire week, allowing them to have touch-points with each and every student. Students have had the opportunity to work with artists, musicians, athletes, and authors such as:

• Miranda Paul, childrens author of favorites such as Speak Up, 10 Little Ninjas, and One Plastic Bag.

• Uno, Dos, Tres, Andres, a grammy award winning bilingual indie band, introduced us to musicians from Puerto Rico, Mexico, and Columbia.

• The Jump Rope Warrior, yoga instructors, folk dancers, and more!

The PTO is committed to keeping the costs of field trips low for families offering $10 per child in each calendar year. If their grade level does not choose to organize a field trip, the funding still goes towards the student to be used on an in school event or materials for a classroom project.

With funding from the Scholastic Book Fair, each student receives a book on the week of their birthday! 

Students celebrating their birthdays in the summer get to choose their book before summer break. 

The PTO regularly approves requests from Teachers for resources or activities that may not be covered under the school budget. These requests have consisted of events, texts, additional licenses for programs that provide interventions or to extended learning, and many other activities and resources that can enhance learning activities in our classrooms. 

The PTO provides 5th graders and their families with celebratory treats and refreshments during their promotion to Middle School!

The PTO sponsors books and materials for the annual Glenbrook Battle of the Books

The PTO will continue to bring our Community together for our annual Family Fun Night in addition to other engaging activities such as trivia nights, painting nights, Party on the Pavement, and much more!
