In early 1987, First Presbyterian Church Women's Bible Class. Came up with an plan to provide a free meal to those less fortunate in Pulaski, VA with no questions asked. The Church's Kitchen and Fellowship hall would become the facility. On the first day opened, we served just 2 people.
We incorporated in October of 1987 and operate to present. We have been blessed to have fed 1.1 million individuals over that time. We are the grateful to have financial support from Individuals, Clubs, Churches, Businesses, and grants to help keep us open. We operate with volunteers from those Clubs, Churches and Individuals who wish to serve others.
We have been fortunate to be able to remain open and help the indigent in the Pulaski area. The dynamics of the guests we serve have changed post-COVID. We have brought people back inside to feed people onsite. This provides guests a safe place to enjoy a meal hot weekday free from the elements and time to relax and socialize again. Currently we are on an average of feeding approximately 100 guests per day.
