APPLICATION STARTER
Complete the virtual academy Application Starter
READ AGREEMENTS & CONTRACTS
Note: These will all be updated in late July.
- Code of Conduct in the School Handbook
- Electronic User Agreement (Acceptable Use Policy)
- Technology Equipment Checkout Agreement
- Virtual Academy Student Contract
ACADEMIC HISTORY
If the student has attended Pulaski County Schools for most of their academic career, the district can retrieve transcripts and other academic history. However, if the student has been homeschooled or attended out-of-district, you will be required to supply transcripts and other academic records to a school guidance counselor. These documents will be submitted to Virtual Academy Dean of Students.
VIRTUAL ACADEMY DEAN - After you complete the Application Starter, the virtual academy dean or a counselor, will contact you to complete the tasks below. Please note that it may be a few days before you are contacted.
SCHEDULE ENTRANCE EXAM
If the school district doesn't have up-to-date reading and math diagnostic scores for the student, we'll need to schedule a time for them to take the IXL Diagnostic (high school) or i-Ready Diagnostic (middle school) at the school.
COLLECT ACADEMIC HISTORY (See Step 3)
REVIEW COMMITTEE - After all application materials have been received, a committee will meet to review the documents and any other relevant considerations, including:
REVIEW ACADEMIC HISTORY (See Step 3)
If enrolled in a Pulaski County school during the previous school year, a committee may analyze grades, notes from teachers and principals in Infinite Campus, and consult students’ previous teachers. A history of success in a virtual academic setting is important.
If not enrolled in a Pulaski County school during the previous school year, you will provide evidence of success in a prior school setting, such as homeschool, private school, or other public school.
REVIEW DOCUMENTS
State and Local Testing Scores (See Criteria webpage)
NOTIFICATION - You will be notified as soon as possible of the committee's decision. Please consider that this program is fairly small, the processes involve several reviewers, and schools may be busy with beginning-of-year programs (scheduling, open house preparations, training, etc.) -- all of which may delay staffs' response times.
ORIENTATION & CLASS SCHEDULING
Once accepted, the student and guardian will attend an orientation meeting, during which you will:
Enroll or update enrollment as a student of Pulaski County Schools. Please visit www.pulaski.net/registration.
Work with a counselor to build a class schedule.
