TEAM - Teacher Effectiveness And Mentoring is Pulaski County's new-teacher orientation program. Instructional supervisors work with new teachers to acclimate them to Pulaski County's programs, systems, and expectations. Typically, there are six meetings. The first is led by our assistant superintendent, who addresses employee requirements and expectations. The following meetings are focused on instruction, curriculum, content standards, data analysis, behavior, school discipline, classroom management, MTSS, and special programs. Some meetings are held at Central Offica, and others are held at the teachers' respective schools, immediately after school.
Mentoring - First-year teachers are also assigned a mentor to work with them and teach them the ins-and-outs of their school's daily operations. They guide the new teacher in everything from creating lesson plans and managing classroom behaviors, to submitting attendance and making photocopies; from using the most effective instructional strategies, to managing student work in Google Classroom.
TEAM attendance is required for all first-year teachers and new-to-the-district teachers.
