We interviewed WEB leaders about how they felt about the program and here were some responses:
Why did you choose to be a WEB leader?
Aaliyah S: I just wanted to help students. Christian M: I wanted an A+. Nereida G: Because I wanted to help the 7th graders. Abigail: A friend recommended me. Farrah: I wanted to help out the new 7th graders, because I remember my experience last year.
Do you enjoy being a WEB leader?
Aaliyah S: Yes I enjoy being a WEB leader. Christian M: Yes, it is a lot of fun. Nereida G: Yes I do. Abigail: Yes I like being a WEB leader. Farrah: Absolutely, it's actually really fun- there's no stress whatsoever.
What is some advice you would give to someone who wants to be a WEB leader in the future?
Aaliyah S: Be kind to others. Christian M: Get good grades. Nereida G: Get good grades. Abigail: Always keep your grades up and don't get into fights, stay on task. Farrah: Keep your grades C and above -if not- you won't be able to go and teach.
4.What were the qualifications needed to be a WEB leader?
Aaliyah S: Good grades. Christian M: Don't get in trouble. Nereida G: Don't get in trouble . Abigail: Being a good helper. Farrah: Good grades, good attitude, good intentions, and a good speaking voice.
5. Do you recommend people to sign up for the elective?
Aaliyah S: Yes I recommend it. Christian M: Of course. Nereida G: Yes. Abigail : Yes I would recommend it to those who are interested. Farrah: YES. It's so fun - I love it in the class - and I love helping out with everything WEB has planned.
6. Do you enjoy helping the 7th graders?
Aaliyah S: Yes I enjoy helping the 7th graders. Christian M: I think I'm becoming a better leader. Nereida G: Yes. Abigail: Yeah I enjoy helping them. Farrah: Yeah, they're really fun-especially the kids who are easy to talk to.
7. In your opinion are the events fun?
Aaliyah S: Yes, they're fun. Christian M & Nereida G: Everything about the events are fun. Abigail: Yes, the events are very fun . Farrah: YES. WEB is so freaking fun-and the events are amazing to help with.
8. Was the WEB prep hard?
Aaliyah S: Yes . Christian M & Nereida G: It was a little hard. Abigail: The prep wasn't hard but it does need many communication skills. Farrah: Not really- I just had to get used to the games and lessons.
9. What is WEB about? What does WEB mean?
Aaliyah S: Where everyone belongs, helping out others. Christian M & Nereida G: Where everyone belongs. Abigail:WEB is a group of students who come together to help 7th and 8th graders help each other. Farrah: WEB stands for "Where Everyone Belongs", it's all about helping kids around the school while also making school fun- we go around teaching class every now and then to go connect with everyone.
10. Have you made any friends in the WEB program?
Aaliyah S: Yes I have. Christian M and Nereida G: Yes, i'm friends with everyone in the program. Abigail: Yes I have made friends in the WEBprogram. Farrah: Yeah actually, I made about 5 new friends and I'm pretty close with a lot others.
