Master Sergeant Frank Puebla 

Master Sergeant Puebla enlisted in the delayed entry program December of 1990 and attended boot camp at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, 3rd Bn. Lima Co. San Diego, California in July 1991.   Upon completion of recruit training he was assigned to India Co. MCT. Master Sergeant Puebla proceeded to MOS School in Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany Georgia. After completion he received the primary MOS of 3052 Preservation, Packaging and Packing Specialist (PP&P).  In March of 1992, Master Sergeant Puebla was assigned to 1st Force Service Support Group, 1st Supply Bn, Supply Co. While assigned to 1st Supply Bn he filled the billet of Packaging Specialist.  

     In September of 1992, Master Sergeant Puebla was meritoriously promoted to the rank of Corporal and was assigned as a Combat Refresher Training (CRT) Instructor.  In December of 1993, he participated in Operation Restore Hope in Somalia, Africa. Later, Master Sergeant Puebla was on a HUMS transfer to I&I Staff Corpus Christi Tx. in 1994. In August of 1994, Master Sergeant Puebla received orders to 3rd FSSG and filled the billets of Packaging Specialist and Platoon Sergeant. He also held billets in Aviation Supply and acted as a Troop Handler in Joint Reception Center Camp Butler, Okinawa, Japan. 

     In August of 1995, Master Sergeant Puebla attended Drill Instructor School, San Diego, California.   Upon completion of Drill Instructor School, Master Sergeant Puebla was assigned to India Company, 3rd Battalion. As a Sergeant of Marines, he filled the billets of Drill Instructor and Senior Drill Instructor. 

     In March of 1998, Master Sergeant Puebla returned to 1st FSSG, 1st Supply Battalion, and was assigned to Headquarters and Service Company (H&S). While attached to PP&P he filled the billets of Fabrication Section Chief and Receiving Section Chief.  In June of 1998, Master Sergeant Puebla was promoted to Staff Sergeant and was selected to be the Company Gunnery Sergeant for H&S Company. In January of 2001, Master Sergeant Puebla was assigned to 3rd Material Readiness Group, 3rd Material and Readiness Battalion, PP&P (3rd MLG) Okinawa, Japan. While assigned to 3rd MLG he performed the duties of the SNCOIC of Receiving Section and Containerization Section. 

     In February of 2002 Master Sergeant Puebla was promoted to Gunnery Sergeant and reassigned to 1st MLG, 1st Supply Battalion where he served as the SNCOIC of Preservation Section. In August 2004 Master Sergeant Puebla participated in Operation Iraqi Freedom as the Officer in Charge (OIC) and Operations Chief for the PP&P platoon within Material Distribution Company in the Al Anbar Province. In February 2006 Master Sergeant Puebla was approved to go to the Staff Noncommissioned Officer Academy, Camp Pendleton where he served as a faculty advisor in the Career Course. In March 2007 Master Sergeant Puebla was promoted to his current grade. He then served as a faculty advisor and later the SNCOIC of the Advanced Course. Upon extension MSgt Puebla assumed the position of the Camp Pendleton, Staff Noncommissioned Officer Academy Deputy Director. 

     In October 2009 MSgt Puebla was selected to be the first Master Sergeant of Marines to return to the Marine Corps Recruit Depot assuming 0911 MOS; He was assigned to Drill Instructor School where he became the Academic Chief Instructor and Value Based Training (VBT) primary instructor. In September 2011 MSgt Puebla started terminal leave and his second career as a Naval Science Instructor at Paloma Valley High School out of Menifee CA. His NJROTC program is a national contender in Close Order Drill, Academics, and Fitness. In 2013, 2014, and 2016 he was selected as Rookie Teacher of the Year.

    His personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal in Lieu of second award, the Marine Corps Commendation Medal in Lieu of second award, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal in Lieu of fourth award, and the Good Conduct Medal in Lieu of fifth award. Master Sergeant Puebla is married to the former Claudia Marquez of Los Angeles, California and has 2 daughters, Linda 26 years old and Sophia 17 years old.
