This is the largest domesticated cat breed, their origins are Maine, United States, and they weigh 18-22 lbs for male, and 7.9 - 12 lbs for the female, Maine Coon owners prefer to keep them indoors because they get stolen when alone. Their lifespan is 13-14 years but some have lived much longer. Their first appearance was in 1861, then France's Simpson wrote a book of the cat in 1903. They have an affectionate nature, very playful, and friendly, they enjoy human company, they are also noted for the delightful quiet chirping sound they make, but you can buy them for $1,000-$2,000.
