Video Thinking Like a Historian
Don't describe history in a passive voice! I mean you wouldn't describe your soulmate that way...
If you can summarize information and include SPECIFIC facts supported by evidence you will easily pass an SAQ!
What the Short Answer Question IS NOT:
•NOT an essay. It is a series of formulaic tasks that can be completed by writing at least 3-9 complete sentences.
•NOT about right v. wrong answers. There are only two types of answers: those that are backed by solid argument and evidence and those that are not.
How to Answer the SAQ
For each question:
Answer each part of the question separately. Clearly label your answers for each point with the appropriate letter
Words of Advice
•Answer the question directly. Do not beat around the bush or try to dress up your answers… you don’t have the time.
•If the question asks for ONE piece of evidence, there are no extra points for giving more than that, but the second might be better so add it!
Each task is graded separately for 1 pt. If you can answer A and C but not E, then still go for it!
Assignment 1 Heading a Paper/SAQ practice 1 Due Wed
Answer the questions in ACE format and turn in on paper. Follow directions on doc for correctly heading your work. Peer grading Wednesday
