Background
Protosabers were the first known design of a lightsaber. Like later lightsabers, their focusing crystal was set inside a hilt from which a blade of energy was emitted. The main difference between protosabers and later lightsabers was that the hilt was connected via cable to an external power pack due to limitations in power pack technology.
These lightsabers had limited operational time and the mobility of the user was restricted by the cable linking the hilt of the weapon to the power supply.

The Hilt
Use Tinkercad to develop your Protosaber. Hollow out the middle so you can store the Arduino Nano. Use this link to understand how much room you need.
The Blade
Grab a light strip, an Arduino Nano, a metal wire and a plastic blade. Tape the blade to the wire with electrical tape to make it straight. Put the tube over the top.
Using wires, Solder the Power, Ground, and Input to the board. A Scamatic is here.
Use this link as a starting point for your blade animation and color. Eventually you will find a blade color and length that fits your needs. Make sure you go to Tools--> Boards --> Arduino Nano
Finishing Touch
Detach your blade from the computer and place the wires and Nano in the hilt with the nano's power input on the bottom. Plug in and "May the force be with you".
