What does receiving a token mean?!

Someone noticed.

You did something that stood out. You went above and beyond, helped someone when you didn’t have to, made someone feel welcome, or simply made Colfax a better place.

This Token of Appreciation is a way of saying, “Thank you. What you did mattered.”

But the token isn’t meant to stop with you. Now it’s your turn to keep it moving. Look around. Find someone who is making a difference, someone who lends a hand without being asked, goes the extra mile, includes others, brings people together, or quietly does the right thing when no one is watching.

When you find that person, pass the token on.

There are no rules about who deserves it or what they have to do. You decide. The only requirement is that you recognize something good and help make sure it doesn’t go unnoticed.

One act of kindness can become another.
One thank-you can inspire another.
One token can start a chain reaction.

Keep it moving.
Keep noticing.
Keep showing appreciation.

Because gratitude isn’t just something we feel. It’s something we do.

The Story behind the Token...

Colfax Grateful began with a simple belief: young people have a genuine desire to make a difference when they are given the opportunity. A group of teachers at Cofalx recognized that many students wanted to give back to their community but often didn't know where to begin. As they gathered to imagine what that opportunity could look like, one teacher discovered a physical Token of Appreciation and began to give them away. That small act of gratitude sparked something much bigger. It became the foundation for a movement that empowers students to recognize kindness, celebrate the people who make Colfax stronger, and inspire a culture where gratitude leads to action. From that single idea, Colfax Grateful was born.
