Beginning Brass & Percussion (1st Period)
This band is for new musicians or students with one or fewer years of experience. It places a high level of focus on brass & percussion fundamentals, note and rhythm reading, musical terminology, and performance etiquette. It also prepares students for Concert and Symphonic Band.
Beginning Woodwinds (2nd Period)
This band is for new musicians or students with one or fewer years of experience. It places a high level of focus on woodwind fundamentals, note and rhythm reading, musical terminology, and performance etiquette. It also prepares students for Concert and Symphonic Band.
Symphonic Band (6th Period)
The Symphonic Band, primarily for upperclassmen, offers a premier concert experience with year-round performances. It’s a challenging but rewarding ensemble.
Concert Band (7th Period)
Concert Band is for students with basic music knowledge, offering skill refinement before Symphonic Band and an alternative to Marching Band.
Drumline
Drumline is the percussion section of the marching band, featuring instruments like snare drums, bass drums, tenor drums, and cymbals. Drumline members play high- energy rhythms that help drive the music and keep the band in time. Being part of the drumline builds coordination, discipline, teamwork, and musical skill. It’s a great fit for students who enjoy rhythm, movement, and being at the heart of the band's energy.

Color Guard
Color Guard is a performance-based group that combines elements of dance, choreography, and visual artistry. Members perform with flags, rifles, and other equipment to enhance the music of the marching band. It’s a great way for students to build confidence, teamwork, and performance skills, all while having fun!

Marching Band
The award-winning Pioneer Panther Pride Marching Band & Color Guard is one of the most exciting and rewarding performance opportunities at Pioneer Middle School. Students in the wind section, drumline, and color guard work together throughout the fall to prepare for parade competitions, school performances, and community events. Along the way, students build musical skills, confidence, teamwork, discipline, and lifelong friendships.
