This event was created in 2022 to increase awareness, participation, and equity in Computer Science opportunities, especially for traditionally underrepresented groups. Why is this important?
There are nearly 700,000 open computing jobs in the US, but only 80,000 CS students graduated into the workforce last year.
Colorado ranks fourth in the nation for the concentration of tech jobs, is home to over 11,000 tech industries, and posts 146,000 jobs each year in the technology and information industry.
Regardless of what our students do when they grow up, whether they go into medicine, business, politics, or the arts, knowing how to build technology will give them confidence and a competitive edge.
