He has published academic articles in Explorations in Economic History, European Review of Economic History, Cliometrica, Journal of Iberian and Latin American Economic History, among many other journals. His research includes a variety of topics in industrial organization, applied econometrics and economic history. By relying on primary and secondary sources, he has analyzed the functioning of credit markets, information asymmetries, the emergence of financial institutions, wealth and income inequality, living standards, and the economics of transportation, among other topics.
He has presented his research at several academic conferences and seminars around the world. He has served as referee for a number of journals, including European Review of Economic History, Explorations in Economic History, Economic History Review, Journal of Iberian and Latin American Economic History, among others. As part of his career, he has taught undergraduate and graduate courses in Economics, Game Theory and Operational Research.
