MA Human Rights (University College London), Lic. & BA Philosophy (PUCP) researcher with post- graduate education in Humanitarian Diplomacy, International Public Law and Philosophy. I lecture courses linking Justice, Ethics and the Performing Arts at PUCP

My research explores the transformational effect of art on people and society. I explore the use of arts by international humanitarian organisations and civil society during and after crises; how arts help migrants and host communities to build bridges; the construction of identity and gender through arts; performance as a non- formal means for transitional justice.

I have over ten years of experience coordinating humanitarian action with the Red Cross, with missions in Africa, Americas, Europe and Middle East.

Transforming society through mindful agency

Maestro en Derechos Humanos (UCL), Licenciado en filosofía (PUCP) con estudios de postgrado en Filosofía y en Diplomacia Humanitaria.

Después de más de diez años de trabajo en acción humanitaria con la Cruz Roja en África, América, Europa y Medio Oriente, mis estudios de maestría fueron oportunidad de reconectar mi experiencia e intereses con la investigación. Mi labor académica reciente incluye la docencia (ética, diplomacia, artes escénicas- UP, U. Malta, PUCP) y la investigación multi-modal del efecto transformacional de las artes en la sociedad y las personas.

Investigo los vínculos entre las artes y los derechos humanos (Migración, LGBTQ+, Justicia Transicional). Exploro también la búsqueda y reconstrucción de identidad a través de artes audiovisuales y el performance. Parte de mi investigación se ha traducido en artículos académicos, y mis contribuciones para la revista Routed. La otra parte se ha traducido en cortometrajes originados en performances como se detalla líneas abajo.

Mi interés actual es profundizar mi comprensión de cómo actos de hospitalidad se pueden entender como formas de justicia, clarificando la capacidad restaurativa de los vínculos que se desarrollan entre los participantes. Esta investigación ha recibido becas de la PUCP y del Ministerio de Cultura.
