What is COIL?

The “Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL)” is a teaching and learning methodology that provides innovative strategies about internationalization.

COIL encourages interaction between faculty and students with their peers abroad, through modules co-developed and co-taught by faculty from both partners universities that are participating. Thanks to this online and multicultural teaching environment, the students, have the possibility to develop new skills seeing how different situations are addressed in other countries.


Purpose

At CENTRUM PUCP we have a special interest in generating online collaboration opportunities since They promote intercultural and transnational learning for students using different technological tools. We are believers that by promoting instances of cultural immersion, We generate citizens of and for the world

Objectives

•Increase the internationalization of the school through collaboration agreements.

•Promote the relationship of CENTRUM PUCP with partner schools.

•Generate learning opportunities and multicultural experiences online.

•Promote the cultural immersion of our teachers.

•Develop critical thinking through shared experience with foreign students.

•Promote networking opportunities among students from both universities.

COILs allow students to develop new skills through an international experience, promoting collaborative multicultural work. Finally, they allow the expansion of contact networks across borders. In this way, They are open to countless opportunities for continued professional development.

ADVANTAGES FOR FACULTY

The COIL initiative encourages teachers to develop their pedagogical skills and competences at an international level. It enables them to develop in an innovative educational environment while giving them the opportunity to expand their network of contacts. Likewise, this activity could be considered within the teaching work plan.
