MUS 705 Concert Band
MUS 705 Concert Band
Grades 9-12
All students requesting to take part in an instrumental music class will be placed in the entry level instrumental ensemble, Concert Band. The Concert Band rehearses daily in a group environment. The class period is comprised of warm-up exercises, tuning, and performing music of varied composers, styles, time periods, and moods. The materials selected are of the appropriate level of difficulty for technical and musical development. The members of the Concert Band will have weekly group lessons. Required performances include evening concerts and graduation.
MUS 710 Honors Concert Band
MUS 710 Honors Concert Band
Grades 9-12 - Approval of Course Instructor
The Honors Concert Band and Concert Band meet as a combined group. In addition to the course requirements of students in MUS 705, comprehensive criteria for receiving Honors Credit must be met. WEIGHTED COURSE
To successfully earn Honors Credit for Concert Band (MUS 710), each student must earn a minimum of two (2) points per Marking Period (M.P.).

Grades 10-12 - By audition only
This course is for students performing at an above average high school level. The Wind Ensemble rehearses daily in a group environment. The class period is comprised of warm-up exercises, tuning, and performing music of varied composers, styles, time periods, and moods. The materials selected are of the appropriate level of difficulty for technical and musical development. The members of the Wind Ensemble will have weekly group lessons. Required performances include evening concerts and graduation.

The Honors Wind Ensemble and Wind Ensemble meet as a combined group. In addition to the course requirements of students in MUS 715, comprehensive criteria for receiving Honors Credit must be met. WEIGHTED COURSE
