This year our school wide theme is called ‘Cherish our Treasures’ or ‘Tiaki Taonga’. So what does this mean? What is a treasure? Well, a treasure could have different meanings for different people.
Most people would think of the word ‘treasure’ as being something rare and valuable like finding a pirates treasure chest full of gold. A treasure could be something important passed down from one person to another. This week you will be finding out more about what makes something a treasure.
WALT: become familiar with a new topic. Today you will be learning more about an important NZ treasure: Pounamu. Some of you may be wearing your pounamu to school today!
