Academic Year 2023/24 Summary

We are delighted to share the tremendous success of our Pre-Loved Uniform Initiative for the 2024/25 academic year

Thanks to the generosity of our school community and the hard work of our volunteers, the initiative not only made a positive environmental impact but also raised vital funds for our school.

Key Achievements:

£3,080.  Raised
Through the sale of pre-loved uniforms, we proudly contributed £3,080.00 to the Build a Better Wanstead High Fund. These funds will be instrumental in supporting much-needed school improvements, benefiting both current and future students.

352 Items Saved from Landfill
A total of 352 uniform pieces found new homes this year, helping families save money and reducing waste.   By reusing uniforms, we significantly cut down on landfill contributions, playing our part in creating a more sustainable future.

Supporting Families
The initiative has provided an affordable solution for parents, offering quality second-hand uniforms at a fraction of the cost. This effort helped families stretch their budgets while still ensuring their children were equipped with the appropriate school attire.

Looking Ahead
We are incredibly proud of what we continue to achieve and the service we can offer that benefit both the community as well as the school.  We are sad to wave goodbye to Kerry Flitchroft, one of the founders of the initiative, as her son moves on from the school to start his college life.  Thank you, Kerry, for all your hard work. Lucy Flinter will continue to lead the initiative with the valued support of Charlie, Carly, and Sigga.

Thank you to everyone who donated, purchased, and volunteered; you have truly made a difference! Together, we are raising funds for a better Wanstead High and helping create a greener, more sustainable world

Thanks for supporting the WHS PTA Pre-Loved Initiative.
