The Human Capital Lab (THCL) comprises multidisciplinary experts with over two decades of experience in training, research, and education. We have management, behavioral, psychological, public health, cognitive, and neuroscience subject matter experts, practitioners, consultants, and researchers who have served several fortune 500 companies, not-for-profit organizations, startups, and international bodies, including the UN.

A seminar titled "Sustaining Start-ups in India" was conducted by Mr. David Selvaraj, an environmentalist and senior manager at Golden Square Serviced and Virtual Office Home in Bangalore, India. Mr. Selvaraj, also the founder of E-Cure Charitable Trust, emphasized environmental awareness aiming to make Bangalore a zero-waste city. The POSH certification course organized by the Human Capital Lab, under the Department of Psychology, School of Social Sciences at CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Central Campus aimed to empower participants with skills to manage workplace harassment, led by Mrs. Aspy Joyson and Mrs Rachel Victor. Mrs Joyson's 31 years experience of advocacy and Mrs Victor's three decades of experience ensured a comprehensive learning experience. Key topics covered included ICC responsibilities, equality principles, and complaint handling. Positive feedback highlighted valuable insights gained and intentions to implement learned strategies, while areas for improvement included providing physical resources and structuring the program into smaller modules. Overall, the workshop equipped participants with vital knowledge to foster safe work environments and address harassment effectively.

The Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) workshop organized by the Human Capital Kab, under the Department of Psychology, School of Social Sciences at Christ University focused on essential principles and skills for addressing emotional disorders like anxiety and depression. Dr. Tony Sam George stressed self-application of CBT, while Dr. Jayashankara Reddy emphasized its empirical structure. Facilitated by Dr. Thaddeus Alfonso, participants learned CBT's philosophy, ABC framework, and practical tools like the Hot-Cross Bun model. Day two emphasized the 5-P framework for case conceptualization and essential interview aims for therapists, enhancing rapport and psychoeducation. On Day 3, participants delved deeper into understanding depression cycles, dysfunctional beliefs, and common distortions in thinking, engaging in role plays and discussions to apply learned techniques practically. The workshop concluded with a role-play demonstration by Dr Thaddeus Alfonso, offering insights into identifying dysfunctional beliefs in therapy sessions, followed by a feedback session and the valedictorian remarks.

The panel discussion on "A Proud Care - Mental Health of LGBTQIA+" organized by the Human Capital Lab under the Department of Psychology, School of Social Sciences commenced with an inaugural address by Dr Sushma Murthy from the Department of English and Cultural Studies, under the School of Arts and Humanities that set an inspiring tone, emphasizing the importance of inclusive mental health support for the LGBTQIA+ community. The panel discussion proved to be both informative and inclusive, offering diverse perspectives and insights from esteemed panellists including Ms. Deepthi, an LGBTQ activist and Queer affirmative peer counsellor, Mr. Kausik Venkatesan, also a queer affirmative peer counsellor, Ms. Sahiti Gavarikar, another queer affirmative peer counsellor, Sana Suman, a journalist and trans activist, and Sudip Dey, a senior content manager. Each panellist contributed valuable expertise and experiences, fostering a robust dialogue on the mental health challenges faced by the LGBTQIA+ community and strategies for promoting well-being and inclusivity.

A Design Thinking Workshop was conducted for the leads at Payhuddle on August 1st, 7th, and 18th, 2023 by the Human Capital Lab, under the Department of Psychology, School of Social Sciences. The workshop aimed to foster innovation and problem-solving skills among the team. Through interactive sessions and hands-on activities, participants learned the principles of design thinking and applied them to real-world challenge. The workshop encouraged collaboration, empathy, and creativity, empowering the leads to approach problems from a user-centric perspective and develop innovative solutions.

The 2nd-year MSc Psychology (HRDM) students explored the intersection of neuroscience and human behavior in their professionalization seminar, led by Prof. Dr. Subbulakshmy Natarajan on September 24, 2022. Delving into Piaget's theory of cognitive development, the session emphasized active knowledge construction and the integration of new information. Discussions encompassed the importance of language, math skills, and physical exercise in optimizing cognition and neural plasticity. The Theory of Multiple Intelligences by Howard Gardner provided insight into diverse modalities of human intelligence. Real-life examples enriched the seminar, elucidating procedural and implicit learning. The session concluded with a reflective note on ageing and cognition, challenging stereotypes. Through engaging presentations and interactive discussions, participants gained valuable insights into optimizing brain resources for enhanced human performance.
On October 10, 2024, the Human Capital Lab (THCL) collaborated with SoulAI to host "Mastering AI Skills 101" at CHRIST University. The event aimed to introduce psychology students to the applications of AI in their field. It featured interactive sessions covering topics such as model vulnerabilities, the role of high-quality training data, and effective prompt engineering.
Participants engaged in an aptitude test in prompt engineering and learned about the growing use of conversational AI in recruitment. The importance of human feedback for improving AI models was also highlighted. The workshop concluded with a Q&A session, allowing students to deepen their understanding of AI's potential and limitations in psychology. Overall, the event successfully bridged the gap between psychology and artificial intelligence, providing valuable insights for future careers.
On October 10, 2024, the THCL Stall at Christ University, in collaboration with Rotract, successfully attracted a diverse crowd during Mental Health Week. The stall featured engaging activities such as positive affirmation chits, stress relief games, and creative expression on our Psychoeducation Wall, drawing in students from across the campus. The vibrant decorations and lively atmosphere, coupled with enthusiastic volunteers, created an inviting space that encouraged participation and fostered a sense of community. Together, we emphasized the importance of mental well-being, inviting everyone to prioritize self-care and connection."
The Human Capital Lab (THCL) team had the opportunity to volunteer at the 8th IAF International Association of Facilitators (IAF) -Indian Conference on Sustainability Leadership on November 29-30. The volunteers played a key role in organizing the event, acting as a bridge between participants and facilitators and enhancing their teamwork and coordination skills.
This experience also offered valuable networking opportunities with global professionals, benefiting their future careers. The conference focused on the versatile applications of facilitation and its impact on organizations and employees.
